In today’s fast-paced world we forget to take care of our health. We are often too busy to take time out to exercise. The number one reason that people don’t exercise today is the lack of time. With busy workout schedules, it becomes difficult to squeeze in time to workout. When it comes to exercise we always go all out or nothing. But, why do that when you can sneak in some short periods of workout while being busy. Squeezing in some quick bursts of exercise while you are busy will help you stay fit and fine. They’re a lot easier to fit into your busy schedules.
Below are some of the ways to help you sneak in some fitness time in your busy schedule
Turn your commute into a workout
Try parking far away from the place you are supposed to go to. Walking to and from your car will burn a few extra calories and can really add up. Don’t drive? Get off a stop early from the bus or train and walk the rest of the way.
When you have a crunched schedule you can go for a 7-minute-high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout. Studies have shown that high-intensity workout for 7 minutes burns the same or more calories than working out at a moderate intensity for an hour. Schedule a 7-minute workout focusing on one area each day.
Take the stairs
The best and the most effective way is to take the stairs instead of the lift. Taking the stairs instead of elevator or escalator is good for your heart, core, legs, etc. also taking the stairs will save your time, by the time the elevator door opens you already would’ve reached. Taking the elevator not only burns calories but also builds muscles.
Walk and talk
While you are busy attending the call at your office, the best you can do is walk while you are talking on the phone. This way you’ll get your job as well as fitness done without much ado. So get up and walk around your office lobby while talking.
Workout during lunch break
Instead of eating at your desk squeeze in some time during lunch break and head to the gym for a quick workout session. The weather’s not good outside? No problem, bring in some dumbbells to work and burn calories while at your desk.
Lunge while shopping
Do lunges while you are walking through the aisle to get those groceries. What if someone spots you? Ask them to join in. This way you can get the most of your shopping time and burn a few calories simultaneously.
Develop a move mindset
The most important thing is to develop a move mindset. Make sure to move at every chance that you get like squat to pick something up or squat in your chair. Developing a move mindset will keep you on your toes all day helping you stay fit. Remind yourself every day why you need to workout.
Try some of these ways to make exercise a part of your life. Commit to exercising regularly and make it a priority and never settle for less than feeling fit.
